School Philosophy

  Its is the belief of the faulty and administration of the Cleburne County Career/Technical School and the Cleburne County Board of Education that this school should be committed to serving the citizens of Cleburne County and that is commitment should be advanced by providing career/technical educational services to high school students and adults without discrimination through an articulation of skills and academics. These career/technical services might include: work/study programs geared to individual needs, career/technical guidance, enhancement of personal goals, and job placement.

  It is our belief that people better serve themselves, their community, and their country when they are equipped with marketable skills and/or basic knowledge that enables them to continue their education beyond their immediate level.

  All facilities and equipment at the Cleburne County Technical School are used by the faculty and administration in an attempt to fulfill this philosophy.

School Goals

  The Career/Technical Education Department of the Cleburne County Board of Education will provide experience for:

1. Occupational competence - based on individual needs and choices, geared to economic independence, personal fulfillment and the dignity of work. The Department will help students obtain salable skills by providing adequate career/technical programs for those who need them. The Department will also provide job shadowing, clinicals, and internships for completers or in special situations.
2. Self-Awareness - by providing a full range of occupational experiences to enable students to understand themselves, their abilities, aptitudes and interests. The student will be assisted in the development of a value system, standards of conduct, and basic integrity essential to free enterprise and the working world.
3. Computational skills and economic independence - by assisting in providing knowledge necessary for economical survival and/or skills related to occupational objectives.
